Well, it is here Fall and the Great Fall Into Fall Giveaway. We will be offering the Saltbox Harvest Kit, but wait we are going to throw in the backing as well. ReplyDeleteMy favorite season is truly fall. I love that the heat of summer is just about over, but the freezing of winter is not yet here. The crisp mornings warm into beautifully warm afternoons and the smells of leaves and pines plus all the apples and pumpkins ... just begs for cozy baking. Besides, football season starts, both our local university and NFL for Sundays and Monday nights :) I know, go figure!

Winter is actually my favorite time of year. Though I don't enjoy the cold, the sheer beauty of a snow covered landscape that is undisturbed in the early morning is totally breath taking for me. There is a quiet piece that goes along with a soft snowfall and besides, it's the best time of year to sew, with fire blazing in the wood burning stove!!! I love the Salt Box Harvest collection. ReplyDeleteChoosing a favorite season is like picking which period of my life has been my favorite. I cannot prefer one above the rest, for they’ve all brought trials and all brought unique joys. Summer reminds me of youthful vibrancy and carefree days. Though fall brings cooler weather, it fills me warmth. Perhaps because the oven is in use once again, filling the house with scents of pumpkin, cinnamon, and apple. It gently leads me into winter, which may sometimes seem long and bitter, but only when I overlook the beauty of this time. Standing outside after a fresh snow, peace and silence turn my thoughts from myself and others, to the Lord who created the universe. This is a time of nourishment and tenderness before new growth is revealed. Then I bloom in spring. I sing new hymns with the birds, inhale the fresh air and scents of nature’s blossoms all around, and rejoice in a fresh beginning with hope, vision, and more wisdom than ever before. I cannot enter spring without thinking of the births of my own dear children, the perfection that exists in new life. Though winter is the time we celebrate Christ’s birth and spring, the time of His death and resurrection, I wonder if we don’t have it backwards. For spring makes me think of His entry into this world and angels singing. Winter seems like the time of death, leading to resurrection. But in both seasons, in all seasons, there is unsurpassable beauty. No, I cannot choose, for I love them all.

Hi there, my favorite time of year is Fall. Mostly because my birthday is at the end of September, so I always associated good times and happiness with the beginning of Fall. But it also has to do with growing up in VA and being able to see the Shenandoah Mtns as the trees change color. Always a magical experience. SWOON! I love the Saltbox Harvest line of fabric, probably because fall is my favorite time of year! I love the colors, the changing skies, brisk air, pumpkins, squash, and Thanksgiving's rich story in American history!
ReplyDeleteO.k. So Deb Strain knocked herself out with this fabulous line, so picking a backing is very difficult. I would go with #19435-18, the brown with flowery forms on a branch or vine. Beautiful! (My first choice was the brown trees, but you must be out of that one!)

The colors, the scents, walking through crunchy leaves, waking up to see frost on the pumpkins, burning my cinnamon candles and watching the flames twinkle at dusk, curling up on the couch with a comfy quilt, sipping a mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream while watching my favorite Halloween movies like Hocus Pocus and Sleepy Hollow! Those are just a few reasons why I love fall!!!

I think my previous comment went lost in space, so this might be a repeat. I love fall the best because of the changes, in smells, colors an most of all temperature. Here in NC it has been HOT!!! I love fall for sooooo many reasons! First, I dislike hot weather, so by mid-July I'm so impatient for the heavenly cool days of fall. Gorgeous colors here in NH, apple picking & baking, cozy nights...I could go on and on. I have to say that I believe your giveaway is the best of ALL the ones I've seen. I LOVE THIS KIT! ...the smell of the leaves as they change to glorious shades of rust, red, amber and gold...the smell of wood smoke as cold weather creeps in and wood stoves get fired up...the smell of ripening apples hanging within arm's reach begging to be picked and cooked with cinnamon and spices....the fresh clean frosty mornings that clear out the stale air from my lungs and refresh me..the beautiful huge shiny harvest moon that lights the night up as if it were day and seems to hang so close to the earth that you could reach out and touch it...the feel of sticky and wet pumpkin seeds as I prepare the annual Jack-o-lantern...I love all of it!

ReplyDeleteMy best time of year is fall! The changing of the trees, the cooler weather, and my birthday is Oct 19th...LOL We always go to the pumpkin patch and make a day of it. After we get our pumpkins, we carve them and them I make pumpkin seeds from all our pumpkins! YUMMMMIE!!!
