Layer Cake Quilt Along / New Blog Picture

Have you joined yet. I just joined, this looks like too much fun to miss out on I am going to use AWSOME Layer Cake by Sandy Gervais. I just love her stuff!

Have you ever tried to take a picture of your animals and they just do not want to cooperate. I am having my blog updated for Thanksgiving and the month of November. They will need a picture for the header of what I am thankful for, well the answer is "my boys" . My wonderful husband Virgil and two dogs Melvin and Oliver. I tried to get our cat in the picture "Martha Stewart" but that was just not going to happen. My husband and Melvin the schnauzer were fine, but Oliver the shitzu mix would just not look at me, I think the camera scared him. So 30 minutes and 3 treasts later I used the best one I could, we shall see. I am told they will have the blog updated in a couple of days, I can't wait.

I am thankful for a loving, caring best friend my DH and my animals. I do not have children but my animals are my Kids! We are lucky we have good friends and family and love.

I am posting the 30 minute picture. What are you thankful for?

Well it is here, one of the ultimate rivalry football games, Michigan vs Michigan State. Let the countdown begin, in about 2 and a half hours the game begins. The game is at the Big House this year. I have a dear friend coming over for some quality quilting/football time. She is bringing Chili, I have all the snacks for a full day of FUN, and I don't have to cook!

Nothing like a great fall day full of a quilting and football. My husband is all geared up and has placed his annual bet with one of his friends. I can hardly wait.

Have you had one of these yet?

Have you been to the apple orchard yet, I went Saturday. One of the reasons why I love fall, all of the goodies and the apples. Have you tried a newer apple called Honey Crisp? A woman I work with introduced me to these apples and they are the best apple, my favorite. They are a bit pricey due to being new and all, but oh are they worth it.

My husband is a fan of the McIntosh so a bag of those came home as well as donuts. If you are from the Genesee County area of Michigan there is a wonderful Craft Show being held at the Wolcott Apple Orchard in Mt. Morris MI. If you are in the area stop in for some fall fun, we will be there with a booth selling candy and fabric coasters (my new addiction). Hopefully we will see you there, if not go find some Honey Crisp Apples you will not be sorry (mmmm good)!

Only 10 more days!

Hi everyone, there are only 10 more days to participate in the Autumn Celebration Treasure Hunt, as well as take advantage of the 10% off sale at www.thehometownquilter.com. There are so many fun fall projects it is hard to commit to one. So come on over and take a look at what is new for fall.

Spring Market!

Well it is off to market I go! I just made all my arrangements to go to Minneapolis for Spring Market. I am so excited I have never been. There are so many designers I hope to meet like Minick and Simpson, Sandy Gervais, Kathy Schmitz, Kansas Troubles these are some of my favorites, all though there are so many more!

Well it is Easter already I have Monday off, so we will have a nice dinner and I plan on spending some quality time quilting. I am a Fall and Winter person but I have to say that I am glad the weather is warming up and I can break out the old Birkenstocks. If you have never tried a pair of these shoes or sandals on you should they are dreamy.

Well I have to go now, hubby likes Rice Krispie Treats. I think I will whip up a batch for him, he works so hard he deserves a treat.

Talk to you all soon
Chris

Wow, I can not believe I finally did it!

I can not believe I did it! I am by no means a computer savy person. I am lucky enough to have a great web girl who takes care of our store, did I mention I am from The Hometown Quilter? Well anyway if you know anyone who needs a webmaster Jen is your girl from her company called The Old Drawin' Board! We would have never been able to open our store without her. For those who know me they know that computers are not my thing, and of course I thought I can do this ( ha ha ha) what a joke. Three months went by many frustrating nights and many tears later I stumbled on Jen and her company and it was like magic.

It is snowing this evening, woohoo! I love the fall and winter, it is such a shame we have not had alot of snow especially for Michigan. There is nothing better than a Snow Day!

Well I have to go for now, it is late and it took me the better half of the evening to start this blog ; ). Goodnight and sweet dreams to all. Chris
